Household Tasks Assistance — Compassionate Community Care
All Services Compassionate Community Care Service

Household tasks assistance.

Practical help with cleaning, laundry, shopping and meal preparation — the tasks that keep a home liveable and a tenancy secure.

Funded Under

Core supports — assistance with daily life.

Covers

Cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation and household admin.

Approach

Doing it with the participant where that builds capability.

Frequency

From weekly through to daily, depending on need.

Service overview

The support that quietly protects a tenancy.

Tenancies are rarely lost over rent alone. They are lost over the state of the property, complaints from neighbours, and problems that went unaddressed for months. Household support is the least dramatic thing we do and one of the most protective.

Where the goal is capability rather than maintenance, we do the tasks alongside the participant rather than for them. Where the goal is simply that the house is clean and the washing is done, we do that too — both are legitimate and the participant decides which it is.

Who This Service Is For

We check the request against our current capability, capacity and staffing.

  3. 3

    Funding & support needs review

We look at the plan, the support hours and what the participant actually needs day to day.

    Plan and hours checked

  4. 4

    Risk & compatibility assessment

For shared arrangements this step is never skipped, however quickly a placement is needed.

    Never skipped

    Options & stakeholder discussion

We present the accommodation or support options and talk them through with everyone involved.

    Everyone at the table

  6. 6

A Service Agreement and Schedule of Supports are prepared once a direction is agreed.

    Prepared promptly
