Life Skills Development — Compassionate Community Care
All Services Compassionate Community Care Service

Life skills development.

Capacity building that turns everyday tasks into skills the participant keeps — cooking, budgeting, travel, appointments and the practical business of running your own life.

Funded Under

Capacity building — increased social and community participation.

Focus

Skills the participant retains, not tasks done for them.

Settings

Practised in real settings, not simulated ones.

Evidence

Progress recorded against plan goals for reassessment.

Service overview

The point is that you need us less.

Capacity building funding exists to make a participant more independent. That only happens if the support is genuinely teaching rather than doing. It is slower, it is less tidy, and it is the actual job.

We practise skills where they are used: the shop, the bus, the kitchen, the appointment. And we record progress against the plan goals, so there is real evidence at reassessment rather than a general impression.

Who This Service Is For

Participants with capacity building funding who want to be more independent in daily life, including those preparing to move into their own home.

    Plan and hours checked

    Risk & compatibility assessment

For shared arrangements this step is never skipped, however quickly a placement is needed.

    Options & stakeholder discussion

We present the accommodation or support options and talk them through with everyone involved.
